Oh. Now I remember. You know what I wanna talk about? The Seksualiti Merdeka hype thats been going around.
Its a group of people that seeks equality of treatment for LGBTs in the country. Apparently they have been discriminated and they demand that they be treated the same way as everyone else.
My logic is, if you want to be treated equally, then you must subject yourself to ridicule. Why? Because everyone is subjected to that.
Straight people who get pregnant premaritially are seen differently, foreign workers are seen differently, Sabahans and Sarawakians are seen differently, street-sweepers are seen differently.
Well. I don't know about you guys, but I think there's a lot worse things than to become a LGBT in Malaysia. I think we have a generally high level of tolerance of them. Do we deny them any rights? To vote, to move, to go to school? No. They're just upset a lot of people see them differently.
Okay. Newsflash. You are different.
It's just the demographics of this country. We have a high number of Muslim citizens so it's just normal for those things to be frowned upon but that's about it. We don't do much about it afterwards.
You think if this country really condemned this, Seksualiti Merdeka would even exist? Society has made way for them to exist because we allow it.
The very fact that the movement exist shows that they are at par with other sections of society. The Nature Society is a movement. The Centre Of Orang Asli Concerns is a movement.
Want to be homo? Then go ahead. Stop crying about people not treating you equally. Nobody is treated equally, what makes you so special?
